About SANCET

Reading the signs of the times, the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Anne, Tiruchirapali has vowed to place the thrust on opting for the poor. It has been working for the cause of the education and the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden. After a thorough study, reflection, prayer and discernment, we have proposed to extend our mission through job-oriented training programmes, in the name and style of St. Anne's College of Engineering and Technology, chiefly focusing on the option for the poor, and established the same in the Academic Year 2009-2010. Our aim is to give hope and dignity to the student community through education by means of which character is moulded, strength of mind is increased, intellect is enhanced and also by means of which one can stand on one's own feet. We train the youth to see the good in every human being and to take the best out of each individual, to inculcate a strong sense of values in every student and to help every person promote love, peace and justice in the society.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) is organizing a one-day workshop on “Getting Started with Python” for Second Year CSE (AI & ML) students. Ms. S. Abinaya, AP/CSE (AIML), SANCET, will be the Resource Person and will provide students with fundamental knowledge and practical insights into Python programming. The workshop is scheduled to be held at Computer Lab 4, Annai Annamal Block, on 20.08.2026 from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, offering students an opportunity to strengthen their programming skills and build a strong foundation in Python. All students are instructed to attend the workshop without fail.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in association with the Electronics Communication and Scientia Association (ECSA), is organizing a workshop on “Image Processing using MATLAB” for ECE (VII-Semester) students. Mrs. D. Umamaheswari, M.E., (Ph.D.), Assistant Professor, and Mrs. A. Samathana Priya, M.E., Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, St. Anne’s College of Engineering and Technology, will serve as the Resource Persons and provide students with practical insights into image processing techniques and their implementation using MATLAB. The workshop is scheduled to be held at the VLSI Lab from 17.08.2026 to 18.08.2026, from 9:15 AM to 4:30 PM, offering students an opportunity to strengthen their technical knowledge and gain hands-on experience in image processing applications.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in association with Electrospark (ECE Incubation Center), is organizing a guest lecture on “Creating an Effective LinkedIn Profile” for Second Year (III-Semester) ECE students. Mr. S. Balabasker, Assistant Professor, St. Anne’s College of Engineering and Technology, Anguchettypalayam, will be the Resource Person and will provide valuable insights into creating a professional LinkedIn profile, building a strong online presence, and utilizing professional networking platforms for career development. This program is scheduled to be held at the Optical & Microwave Lab on 17.08.2026 from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, offering students an opportunity to enhance their professional identity and prepare for future career opportunities.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a lecture on “Recent Trends and Advanced Technologies” for Final Year Computer Science and Engineering students. Mr. S. Manavalan, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, St. Anne’s College of Engineering and Technology, addressed the students and provided valuable insights into emerging technologies, recent developments, current trends, and their practical applications in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. The lecture was held at Computer Lab–IV on 14.08.2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, encouraging students to enhance their technical knowledge and stay updated with advancements in the field.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with Electronics Communication and Scientia Association (ECSA) has arranged State Level Workshop for two days on "Embedded Intelligence with Raspberry Pi Pico and Micro python" for students from 28.07.2026 to 29.07.2026. Name of the Resource Person: Mr.S.Balabaskar, M.Tech. Assistant Professor Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, St. Anne's College of Engineering and Technology.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with the Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association (MESA), organized the Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ISME) Student Membership Enrolment Programme 2026–2027 for II, III, and IV Year Mechanical Engineering students. Er. K. Rajendran, International Program Executive Director, Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers, addressed the students and highlighted the benefits of professional membership and industry engagement. The programme was held at the R&D Cell on 06.08.2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, encouraging students to enhance their professional development and connect with the mechanical engineering community.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with the Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association (MESA), is organizing a seminar titled “Bridging the Gap Between Institute and Industry” for the II, III, and IV Year B.E. Mechanical Engineering students. The session will be delivered by Mr. R. Kumaravel, Founder & Chief Executive, RMK Tech Solutions, Puducherry. The seminar will be held at the Mechatronics Laboratory on 13.08.2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. All interested students are instructed to attend and benefit from this valuable opportunity to gain insights into industry expectations, career opportunities, and professional skills.

It is informed that the CIA-I Examinations for II, III, and IV Year students are scheduled to commence from 10.08.2026 to 17.08.2026. All students are requested to prepare accordingly and attend the examinations without fail.

The Training and Placement & Career Guidance Cell is organizing a Placement Drive on 04.08.2026 at 09:30 a.m. for all final-year students of CSE, CSE (AIML), ECE, EEE, and Mechanical Engineering. Besant Technologies, a brand of BDreamz Global Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, will recruit for various roles including Software Test Engineer, Full Stack Developer, Cloud Computing Engineer, and Data Analyst. The selection process includes HR Presentation, Written Test, Group Discussion, and One-to-One HR Interview. The drive will be held at the Conference Hall, SANCET. All final-year students are requested to attend without fail.

A one-day workshop on “Resource Efficient Machine Learning Framework for Decision-Making Systems” is being organized for the Final Year Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) students. The workshop will be handled by Mr. R. Manickavasagan, AP/CSE (AIML), SANCET, and will be conducted at Computer Lab 5, Annai Annamal Block, on 07-08-2026 from 09:30 AM to 04:30 PM. All students are instructed to attend the workshop without fail and make effective use of this valuable learning opportunity.

National Level Conferences celebrated every year here motivate the students to project their ideas and learn new technologies. I was a student of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of SANCET. Teachers did a fantastic job in making the students understand the course content. It is proved that our teachers can handle any challenge thrown at them. Our teachers encouraged us to learn from our mistakes and always reminded us of a corporate world out there which does not recruit candidates based not only on marks but also on their skill levels. Our teachers used to teach us or at least keep us informed about the latest trends in technology. It was with great sadness that I left the threshold of this Institution and I will always remember this Institution with fond memories. Regarding the facilities, our College has a massive library and laboratory which should help students keep up with new improvements in their fields.
